This page
gives instructions on installing how to export your email addresses
from Outlook into a text file, which can be used as a whitelist for
SpamPal. You can also go to the third party extras page
here and download the Export Outlook
contacts utility to do the same job

Go to File,
Import and Export: |
|
Now, select
the Export to a file
option: |
|
You will now
be asked to select the Output type, which is Tab
Separated Values (Windows) and then click Next: |
|
In order to
extract the email address from your contacts, you must select the
Contacts folder and
then click Next: |
Although
these instructions are for extracting addresses from your Contacts
folder only,
you can at this stage, select another folder, for example, your
Sent Items
folder and extract all the addresses you have sent
emails To:
Note that the fieldnames you have to select, will be different,
depending on which folder you have selected, e.g.. If you selected
the Sent Items
folder, you will have to extract the To:
field. The other thing to watch is that when you select a folder
other than the Contacts
folder, you will end up with duplicate
email addresses, which you
will have to sort though. |

Now set the location of where you
want your email addresses to be exported to, for example, c:\whitelist.txt
and then click
Next:

You should
now see the following screen, so now, click Map
Custom Fields |

You should
now see the following screen, so now, click Clear
Map, which will clear the right hand section of the box: |
|
Now, drag
and drop the left hand field E-mail
Address to the right hand side, so that the screen looks
like this: |

Now Click
OK, which will take you back to
the main actions screen (seen in the screenshot below)
Finally, click Finish
to start exporting your emails addresses |

Your Outlook
email addresses will now be exported, to a file, for example: c:\whitelist.txt |

Once this had been completed, open Notepad
and load the c:\whitelist.txt
file, which should contain a list
of all your recently exported email addresses.
You now have to select all the
email addresses that you want to whitelist (Ctrl-A)
and Copy them all to the clipboard
(Ctrl-C)

You should
now, go into the SpamPal options screen and select the Whitelisted
Email Addresses pane,
as seen in the screenshot below: |

Now, Paste
your email addresses from the clipboard (Ctrl-V)
into the windows and click Apply. |
You should
now have whitelisted all your main Outlook Contacts |
